Your Rights

Your Rights if Taken into Custody

If the Police take you into custody they must:

  1. Give you a warning that anything you say can be used later in a Court of law.
  2. Let you know you have the right to have a lawyer present to advise you.

Sometimes it is necessary for the lawyer to be present at the interview and preferably to have spoken to the Police beforehand to properly assess what course of action is for the best.

I regularly attend Police stations with clients.
